Authorship tokens are not performing. What has gone wrong?
As an author myself, I was keen on these tokens, because of course, I support other authors and the whole idea of easy access to payments.
I’ve been patiently waiting for authorship tokens to realise their potential. However, since the release of the tokens at the end of their ICO, not only were the tokens not valued at the 15US cents each as promised, they have now basically flatlined. This doesn’t necessarily mean that they are dead. What it does mean though is that the Authorship team have not yet been able to sign any deals with major publishers and / or book distributors. The team effectively made promises, but they have all become fairly wealthy through the ICO. Have they gone on holiday? I’m not seeing much in the way of updates from them.
it does mean though, that you can buy them for next to nothing…
What they really need is to get Amazon on board. If they could do that, the tokens would fly!
But sadly, it’s not happening. What the authorship team should do now is either start seriously working on making deals or offer refunds to those who paid Ether . for their ATS tokens. Otherwise, they are going to land themselves in jail/under serious investigation/both.
